Assessment & capability mapping
Look beneath the grade to understand the skills, prerequisites and evidence shaping each learner’s progress.
South African learner development
We understand the learner, identify the gap and build the right support — then measure what changes.
“A grade tells you where a learner landed. Capability tells you where to begin.”
The Ditebogo principle
The continuous learner journey
A better starting point
One connected evidence trail helps families and tutors understand what matters now and what to do next.
Look beneath the grade to understand the skills, prerequisites and evidence shaping each learner’s progress.
Turn priority gaps into focused objectives, practical strategies and clear success criteria.
Build a longitudinal record through reassessment, observations, attendance and tutor insight.
Give families a clear view of strengths, focus areas and the next meaningful step.
Equip tutors to plan, respond and collaborate around the whole learner — not just a score.
AI-assisted tutor support
In development for 2027Ditebogo Learn is built so that AI works for the tutor, not in place of one. It reads across a learner’s own record — baseline results, observations, attendance and reassessment — and brings back what a tutor would otherwise have to find by hand.
Summarise what each skill result actually shows, in plain language a tutor can act on.
Flag prerequisite skills a learner may be missing, with the evidence behind each flag.
Rank the focus areas so the tutor knows what to work on first.
Propose practice activities and strategies tied to the gap that was identified.
Show what changed for each skill between baseline and reassessment.
The guardrail
Families see tutor-approved outcomes, not machine output.
AI-assisted tutor support is being built out with the 2027 programme. Online tutoring, self-paced courses, live classes and AI tutor features are planned for 2027 and are not offered today.
The Ditebogo Curriculum
Ditebogo Learn grows out of Ditebogo Gifts’ creative skills-transfer approach, where people learn by making, doing and creating. We bring that same thinking to learner development through Tailor Made For You: we take time to understand each learner’s strengths, needs, interests and learning gaps, then shape support together with the learner, their parent or guardian, and their tutor.
What the curriculum builds
Real, hands-on skills learners can use.
Believing they can try — and can do.
Speaking, listening and expressing ideas.
Turning ideas into something real.
Working through challenges step by step.
Taking responsibility and guiding others.
Seeing opportunities and acting on them.
The habit of making, not only consuming.
CAPS-informed academic support
Structured assessment shows where a learner is now; targeted intervention follows that evidence. This academic strand stays clearly separate from the Ditebogo Curriculum.
The Ditebogo Curriculum
Practical ability, self-belief and an “I can create” mindset grow alongside the academic strand — each one strengthening the other.
The two strands are kept separate in reporting, so families see academic progress and personal growth as two clear pictures.
Built around the whole learner
Parents, tutors and learners work from the same understanding — strengths, evidence, focus areas and purposeful next steps.
Start with capability, context and evidence — not assumptions.
Every assessment and intervention contributes to one lasting record.
